Mothering In The Trenches

What does mothering in the trenches even mean? To me, the trenches are the every day ups and downs, successes and failures that make up the experience we call life. The trenches are a place of great sorrow and joy. They are a place where you WILL get muddy, scraped up, bruised and perhaps even bloodied. But the faithful will persevere, reach the prize and come out stronger for it on the other end. My point is that mothering is tough but at the end of the day it is the most rewarding experience and awesome responsibility that God entrusts to us.

As a mother of two strong willed and spirited little boys, I am up to my neck in mud and muck of the trenches. I am not poetic or a saint or even a natural stay-at-home mom. I have to work hard at being a "good" mom, not in the eyes of this world, but in the eyes of God! God is the only way I make it through the trenches with love and even joy in my heart, despite the injuries. God is what gives me the strength to raise my boys in His ways, discipline them in love and instruct them in righteousness. It is this journey through the trenches that I wish to share with you. The ups and downs, failures and successes, joys and sorrows. Life. My prayer is you will find comfort in knowing you are not alone in the struggles of parenting, marriage and life. I am right in the thick of it with you and trusting God for perseverance, joy and hope.
